An open house showcasing the work of the Grand River Technical School's building trades class will be held at the home of Ron and Becky Keith, just northwest of Chillicothe. The event is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2010, and everyone is invited to attend.

The 3,470 square-foot country home sits on 5.45 acres of land. It features 2,170 square feet on the main floor and 1,300 square feet in the finished basement area.

The home has a large open kitchen and dining room which features hickory cabinets with quartz counter tops and birch hardwood flooring. The dining room opens onto a deck and there is a pantry and laundry room off the kitchen.

The living room measures 28 feet by 19 feet and has a vaulted ceiling and gas fireplace. There is also custom-made oak trim throughout the living room, dining room and kitchen. The master bedroom features a large walk-in closet and master bath with custom built-in white painted cabinets and a double sink vanity with an onyx top, a whirlpool tub, a 48-inch onyx shower and heated tile floor.

The building trades class at Grand River Technical School is building its next home for Ron and Becky Keith less than five miles northwest of Chillicothe. When finished this spring, the home will feature three bedrooms and one office space, three full bathrooms, a screened-in back porch measuring 20-by-14 feet, an oversized two-car garage, and a walk-out basement. The home will have 2,170 square-feet of living space upstairs and another 1,000 square-feet of living space downstairs.

The Building Trades' class first visit to the site was on Monday, August 24, 2009, while Miller Construction worked on the foundation. The home is located on LIV 2313, Chillicothe, Missouri, and is being built this year for Ron and Becky Keith of Chillicothe. Last year's home is still currently for sale.
