FFA CORNER 2017-2018
Hi, I'm Mason, and I attend Chillicothe High School where I'm a sophomore. The highest FFA Degree I've earned is my Greenhand FFA Degree. I am currently working toward my Chapter FFA Degree. My SAE project is working at Orschelns where I am now employed. My favorite FFA activity without a doubt is mud volleyball. I had a really good team, and dinner was good. FFA has impacted me in multiple ways. When we went to Gallatin for FFA Greenhand initiation, I was able to meet new people. It has also taught me leadership and dedication, which is something I will take with me. I have learned that FFA is more than showing animals and driving tractors. Hello, my name is Madelyn, and I'm a Sophomore at Chillicothe High School. I currently hold my Greenhand FFA Degree and am working toward my Chapter FFA Degree. My SAE project is market hogs, cattle, and soybeans. One of my favorite FFA activities is Barnwarming! I enjoy working for money and then being rewarded by a fun dance with my peers. FFA has impacted my life greatly by pushing me past my comfort zone in things such as public speaking. FFA has boosted my self-confidence and helped me realize who I am.
I'm Ben, and I'm a senior at Chillicothe High School. I currently hold the State FFA Degree and was the local Assistant Sentinel in 2016. My SAE over the past four years has been raising and harvesting 35 acres of soybeans. I am involved in many activities and clubs at CHS, including track, cross country, FCA, Student Council, National Honor Society, and others. I enjoy the various activities of Chillicothe FFA throughout the year, including Barnwarming, Christmas party, and bowling. FFA has taught me that keeping track of your finances is essential for success in life and how to keep financial records. My favorite memory with FFA was my first mud volleyball tournament. My future plans are to attend Northwest Missouri State University and major in a degree that will prepare me for law school and pre-law. After Northwest, I plan to attend the University of Missouri in either Columbia or Kansas City and pursue a law degree. I'm Cameron, and I'm a senior at Chillicothe High School. As of 2018, I have received the State FFA Degree and am currently a member of the Chillicothe FFA Chapter. During my time as an FFA member, I have been taught many skills, such as leadership, punctuality, cooperation and work ethic, all of which I use every day, and especially in other activities and interviews. Some of my favorite high school memories are from being in the FFA, like finding loose pigs my freshman year, taking a tour around the pond with Mr. Black, and off-campus school visits such as visiting Central School and becoming friends with other FFA members during contests. I am ecstatic that I made the best choice for me - joining FFA. My SAE has flourished since my freshman year - Equine Science Entrepreneurship - including Quarter horses, Miniature Horses, and even a Miniature Mule! What I learn in FFA, I also apply to extracurricular activities, such as being a varsity cheerleader for my school! I never worry about being too shy to ask questions, or for something to be explained more thoroughly, thanks to FFA for teaching us public speaking and not to be afraid to voice our opinions. My plans after high school are to attend UMKC in Kansas City, Missouri, to become an M.D., which consists of a bachelor's degree in Biology sciences and pre-med. Then, I will work and study for another 8 years to become a Forensic Pathologist (autopsy for the Criminal Justice systems).
I'm Austin, and I'm a senior at Chillicothe High School. This is is my fourth year as a member of the Chillicothe FFA, and I currently hold my State FFA Degree. For my Supervised Agriculture Experience Program, I began by mowing lawns and trapping. As my SAE progressed, I also sold sweet corn and most recently worked as an intern at the Litton Agriculture Campus. Things I enjoy about FFA include trips for activities such as Washington Leadership Conference in Washington D.C., State Convention, and Professional Bull Riding. I also enjoy activities such as Barnwarming and competing in contest teams. Activities that I am involved in other than FFA include the Chillicothe Hunting and Fishing Club and Future Business Leaders of America. My favorite memory while in FFA would be going to National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, during my sophomore year. While being a member of the FFA, I have learned valuable lessons. Not only have I learned hands-on skills and things I will need for a future career, but also to try my hardest at everything I do and to never give up. After high school, I plan to attend North Central Missouri College for two years. I will then transfer to Northwest Missouri State University to obtain my Bachelor's degree with a major in Agriculture Business. I'm Brittney, and I'm a senior at Chillicothe High School. After high school, I plan to attend North Central Missouri College (NCMC) in Trenton to obtain a degree as a Pharmacy Technician. The thing I enjoy most about FFA is getting to learn and experience new things all of the time. It's a very educational experience that I believe everybody should be involved in even if you don't choose anything agricultural related as a career path. There're always fun activities to be involved in and participate in, and I think that makes all of the class work worthwhile. FFA has taught so much about the world we live in. It's taught me to be an educated consumer. My teachers always made it a priority to make sure we all knew where our food comes from. FFA has also taught me to reach out. There are so many activities to get involved in that could potentially create new friendships for you. You never know what you have in common with others until you reach out and get involved. My favorite memory would have to be mud volleyball or PBR. I definitely enjoyed those activities the most.
